Soft Launch & Honey Tasting

Join us on Saturday, March 9th, for the soft launch of Sheba Bees Honey. Master Honey Sommelier C. Marina Marchese will lead a guided tasting of 3 Yemeni honeys. Enjoy Yemeni coffee and tea with Hors d'oeuvres, Yemeni breakfast favorites, khaliat nahal, a cheese-filled, honeycomb-inspired sweetbread, and sabayah, a rich, flaky pastry served with honey. Marina will demystify the secret world of bees, how they produce honey, their botanical sources, and the regions they produce, with a lively discussion about the unique flavors of honey produced in Yemen.

There will be music, and participants are encouraged to color and keep postcards designed by a prominent Yemeni artist and Sheba Bees team member, Thiyazen Al-Alawi. Sheba Bees honey will be available for purchase during this invitation-only event.

  • Introducing Sheba Bees, brief remarks by Waleed Alhariri, founder & CEO.

  • Guided Honey Tasting, 45 minutes featuring Master Honey Sommelier C. Marina Marchese.

  • Socialize and color postcards designed by Thiyazen Al-Alawi, a Yemeni artist and Sheba Bees field monitor.

  • Hors d'oeuvres with Yemeni coffee & tea, which may be enjoyed indoors or on the rooftop, weather permitting.
