Mohammed Bahkam

Mohammed is a fount of knowledge within our Sheba Bees community. Raised in a beekeeping family, Mohammed recalls many tough economic times when honey was used in his area as currency. He values traditional and modern beekeeping practices, and he watches the bees and the skies carefully to understand weather trends. Mohammed is concerned about how Yemen’s increasingly frequent and intense rainstorms are affecting honey production. Through regular care and expert pruning, he works to keep the Sidr trees around him healthy and blooming for local honeybees.
